Who’s Cailin?
This is me, Cailin, with my husband, Robert. He’s pretty awesome. I’m an artist/photographer/musician. Robert and I are both singer/songwriters and our band name is Campbell + Green. When we’re not touring, which is what we’re not doing right now because of COVID, I work on my art and photography.
Music and art have always competed for my attention for as long as I can remember. Both disciplines began when I was in grade school and I have a lot of gratitude for the people along the way that nurtured this curiosity and vital need in me to create. I’ve been called a Jack of all Trades more than once, and while I don’t call myself a master of any of them, I have a lifetime of practice and experience. Music feeds my art. Art feeds my music.
Being in lockdown gives me the opportunity to put most of my focus on art and photography for now. Hence, the new website design. I’m not very technical, so this website is a work in progress as I slowly make my way through the tech jungle trying to figure out how to upload my photos and make everything do what it’s supposed to.
For those who’d like a more formal resume:
After graduating from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Art, I went on to become a graphic designer for over 30 years, with the last half of that running my own small graphics company. I specialised in corporate graphics and did all right for myself. My stage career (yeah, I did some acting, too) began in grade school and continued sporadically through adulthood with community theatre. It’s been more than 10 years now since I left both theatre and graphics behind and pursued music as a full time career. My husband and I have recorded several albums, toured Europe three times in the last five years and cross-Canada twice with VIA Rail as Artists on Board. We have also played many halls and venues across the country and recently won International Vocal Duo of the Year 2020 and Bronze Album of the Year 2019 with the International Singer Songwriters Association out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Between touring, I also have the great honour to lead a pop choral group of amazing women called the Monday Music Mavens as well as teach vocals and guitar one-on-one to some awesome students.
Until we know it is safe to travel again, we will be sticking close to home here in Nova Scotia, Canada, where I will continue to create through my art and photography.
Join me on my new adventure as I add new images regularly of my latest works. Drop me a line! I’d love to hear from you wherever you are on our wonderful planet. Maybe we’ll even have the chance to meet on our travels.
